Ever since the earthquake struck Haiti there has been no authority whatsoever. While countries and relief agencies have showered aid on Haiti, little of it is reaching increasingly desperate Haitians who lack food, clean water or shelter. There are numerous reports of intensifying looting and violence, particularly around aid distribution points. Red Cross estimate that the total number of affected people is 3.5 million, most of them without a house, food, water or anything else.

At this moment it's literally survival of the fittest in the streets of Haiti. Countries around the world have responded to Haiti's call for help as never before. And they are flooding the country with supplies and relief workers that its collapsed infrastructure and non-functioning government are in no position to handle.
